Lagos to La Tomatina – The Tomatoes, Tapas and Tata’s Tour
VagabundoTravel’s ‘Lagos to La Tomatina’ trip was the highlight of the summer last year and promises to be even bigger and better this time round.
Our two vans will be leaving Lagos on Monday the 26th of August and arriving in Bunol, Spain on the evening of the 27th in time for the opening ceremony, and the massive paella cooking contest. On the way to Bunol, we'll be camping at one of Spain's most historic towns, Valdepenas for the night of the 27th, you gotta see this place - a castle that was inhabited way back in 7th century BC and some of the best vino Españahas to offer.
Once we arrive in Bunol we will be setting up our tents in a beautiful little secret spot only a few minute’s walk from the festival site, camping costs a measly 5€ per person. And our favourite Bunol bar sells shots for only 1€.
All Sangria and beer will be included whilst in the van along with plenty of snack foods. Everyone on tour will also receive a Vagabundo La Tomatina singlet. The price will be 100€ one- way (about the same price as public transport) Lagos – Bunol, or 150€ for a return journey.
Alternatively if you are looking at staying with the Vagabundo's for a while longer one of our van's will be continuing on to Barcelona and then to San Sebastian. Or maybe directly from Bunol to San Sebastian, the price of this will be 50€ for Bunol to Barca and a further 50€ to San Seb. From here the van pretty much does whatever you all decide.
La Tomatina is the one of the most famous festivals in the world! If you want to see one of the most spectacular cities in the world, be part of an amazing Spanish tradition, drink bucket loads of Spanish Tinto, and throw about a million tomato's at random people than this is for you!!!
